The short version
- Parentily helps you keep track of your kids' homework. It's a helper, not a replacement for what the school sends you.
- The AI that reads pages can get things wrong, so check each assignment before you add it.
- What you put in stays yours. We use it only to make the app work, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Keep your school-email address private, and don't misuse the service.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Parentily ("we," "us") about the Parentily app for iPhone and iPad and the website at parentily.app (together, the "service"). By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Who can use Parentily
You must be an adult (18, or the age of majority where you live) to set up and manage Parentily. It's meant for parents, guardians, and caregivers to organize homework for children in their care. Children may use the app on your device under your supervision, and you're responsible for that use.
3. What the service does
Parentily lets you keep a homework list for each child. It can read worksheets, files, notes, dictation, and school emails you forward, and suggest the assignments and due dates it finds. The service is free right now. We may add, change, or remove features, and if we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you what they cost before you're charged.
4. AI suggestions can be wrong
Assignments, subjects, and due dates found by AI are suggestions. They can be incomplete, misread, or on the wrong day. That's why the app shows each one next to the text it came from, for you to check before saving. You're responsible for reviewing what you add and for checking your school's own communications. Parentily isn't a substitute for them, and we aren't responsible for missed or late homework, grades, or school decisions.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you put into Parentily: photos, files, notes, emails, and your lists. You give us permission to process that content only as needed to run the features you use. That includes sending a page to our AI providers to be read, as the Privacy Policy describes. You confirm that you have the right to use the content you add. Materials your child's school gives you, used for your own family, are fine.
6. Your school-email address
Your forwarding address is private to your device. Anyone who knows it can send email into your review queue, so share it only with the email account or filter that forwards to it. If it's exposed or gets unwanted mail, replace it in the app with "Get a new address." Forwarded emails wait on our server for at most 14 days. Collect them in the app if you want to keep them. Don't use the address to send spam, harmful attachments, or anything unlawful.
7. Fair use
To keep Parentily free and reliable, each device can have a limited number of pages read per day, and each address can hold a limited number of waiting emails. You agree not to:
- get around those limits, or access our servers other than through the app;
- use the service, or its connection to AI models, for anything other than organizing homework;
- reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the service, or try to reach data that isn't yours;
- upload malware, or use the service for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive.
We may limit or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
8. Other services
Parentily works alongside services we don't control, such as Apple (the App Store, Siri, and iCloud), your email provider, and websites linked from assignments. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them.
9. Our property
The Parentily app, website, name, logo, and design belong to us and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and the App Store's rules. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app.
10. If you got the app from Apple's App Store
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple isn't responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, or consumer-protection claims. Apple also isn't responsible for claims that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. We are responsible for those, as far as these terms and the law say.
- You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo, and that you're not on any U.S. list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI results will be accurate or complete.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed assignments, or grades, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Parentily at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, for example if you break these terms. Sections 4, 5, and 9 through 14 still apply afterwards.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and if a change is significant, we'll also say so in the app. If you keep using Parentily after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.
